In a ritzy neighborhood near Bel Air, this modern LA mansion has recently listed for $22.5 million. Luxury homes are hot in the L.A. region currently. But few are as hot this one, given that it has a in-pool fire-pit that shoots flames.
The current owner is real estate developer Oren Hayun. He purchased the property in 2017 for $3.74 million and built the home himself. He originally intended to settle there with his family, but the current high demand for luxury mansions in L.A. was too good an opportunity to pass up on.
The home is quite palatial, coming in at around 13,000 square feet with seven bedrooms. In the main entry way there is a waterfall on one side that flows down three stories, giving it a sense of scale and grandeur.
The design is dominated by rich and dark tones, from the walnut cabinets and tables to the brass light fixtures to the dark lava-rock, some of which was carved from Mt. Vesuvius in Italy. Many of the lights were made by artists on commission in Italy and Greece.
The home’s design is striking and confident, but not excessively quirky or eccentric. Mr. Hayun designed the home with his family in mind, and so did not skimp on the amenities. In addition to the gym and a pet spa, the home also has two movie theaters—one indoors and one outdoors.
The home has ten fire pieces in total. There are four fireplaces and six fire pits, the most prominent of which is installed at the pool and can shoot jets of flame over the water. The pool also features a swim-up bar
