Don’t Focus on Building a Team

When growing your business, you should focus on part-time help first.

Teams are a buzzword in real estate nowadays. Everyone seems to be building a team, and I’m often asked, “When do I start working on building my team?” However, I believe there are more important steps to growing your business than building a team. Here are my three most important steps for growing your business. 

1. There’s no job too small to outsource. Before you start thinking about building a real estate team, consider outsourcing your small, everyday tasks. This will provide you with more time to generate leads and continue to build your real estate business.

2. Hire administrative help first. Do this instead of finding a business partner and a buyer’s agent. Can somebody be taking over your touch campaign to your database? Can someone be handling your social media? I think a big mistake people make in building a team is they think in terms of full-time employees rather than part-time help.

3. Hire a second administrative person. Once that part-time person has moved into a full-time role, the next step would be to hire a second administrative person to fully outsource all administrative tasks.
